It’s all about EDC..

In the last months all you see is EDC, but what really is EDC? For some, is just a way to show off some really cool gadgets, for others is just a way to be part of a group. Well for me its mainly a way to be ready in any occasion, I see it more of a mind set than anything else. I believe, the basics for a good EDC are Cut, Light and Treat so basically have a knife, a flash light and a good MedKit. In some cases, depending on where you live, also a handgun would/must be part of that EDC (or at least thats how I see it if we take into consideration what’s happening in this messed up world)! To my fundamentals I, like others, add also a few cool items obviously, not limited to just being cool but also with a use in our every day life! For many reasons, I always have the opportunity to take a small pack with me so space is not a huge problem, and allows me to carry more! But, again, even without a small pack I would always follow my rules CUT, LIGHT, TREAT!

The fundamentals (well mine at least) CUT, LIGHT, TREAT!

Inside the red zippered ITS Tactical bag one oftheir Boo Boo  Kit containing:

  • (1) Triangle Bandage w/ Safety Pins
  • (2) 2″ x 2″ Gauze Pad
  • (10) Band-Aid (6 Large, 4 Small)
  • (2) 3M Steri-Strips
  • (2) Povidone-Iodine Prep Pad
  • (2) Alcohol Prep Pad
  • (2) Triple Antibiotic
  • (2) Sting Relief Pad
  • (2) Burn Jel
  • (1) Moleskin (2” x 4” Strip)
  • (2) Lip Ointment
  • (2 pkgs. of 2 ea.) Electrolyte (Rehydration)
  • (2 pkgs. of 2 ea.) Ibuprofen (Inflammation, Soreness)
  • (2 pkgs. of 2 ea.) Non-Aspirin (Fevers)
  • (2 pkgs. of 1 ea.) Antihistamine (Allergic Reactions)
  • (2 pkgs. of 1 ea.) Anti-Diarrheal (Dehydration Prevention)
  • (2 pkgs. of 2 ea.) Aspirin (Heart Attack)

Now some other items I always carry. Items use most of the time:

And more stuff I just carry because I have to for business reasons:

Everything comfortablt sits in this The North Face pack. I’m not going to give you any details on it as it is a discontinued product, but I can tell you its very comfortable and all inside pockets are positioned just the way I want them. On the shoulder straps 2 ITW carabiners and an emergency wisstle.

So, as you can see more than a standard EDC it looks more like a bug out pack, but again, I always have that pack with me so my not take advantage of the extra space and take some gear that could make the difference in any strange scenario.
